The doctors, dieticians, and trainers have labeled me as weight loss resistant. I am now at risk of developing diabetes. I have children who I love to be with but also take up a large amount of my time. Did I mention that I work in a job that demands mental energy and ends up draining me by the end of the day?

I’ve decided that this is the year I am throwing away the excuses.

I’m getting bigger and wider as I get older. I’m feeling tired faster and can no longer shake off the fatigue. I’ve hired many trainers and planned week after week of healthy meals. I’ve now come to the realization that I am not superwoman and no longer reaching for a mom of the year status anymore. I just want to lose weight, feel confident when I am out, have the energy for my children and be happy in this body.

To do that, I have to change my everyday habits and the way I think about my life and weight.

There are so many moving parts in my life that to add another app to “track my life” was a question | had to ask myself. I keep sabotaging my efforts because all of the diets I tried, exercise programs paid for, trainers and coaches I’ve invested in kept leading me right back to my old habits of avoiding the gym, eating too much, snacking too late and going for sweet.

I’m convinced, that the wellness program NOOM  can help me improve my health and be a weight loss plan that will suit me and my lifestyle.

NOOM stresses that it’s not about restrictive dieting but habit and behavior change. I’m asked questions throughout a quiz – a psychology based evaluation – on my current diet and activity: any back pain, physical and/or medical health issues, and even about where I live, which I didn’t know could be a factor in my eating behavior and weight loss success.

NOOM also reports that over 32, 000 people have successfully lost weight and keep it off even after 6 months which is success in my books. I haven’t gone past the 2-month mark of consistency and weight loss. I have hope!

Sticking to a healthy lifestyle plan is what I am looking for and NOOM offers easy. Based on my responses to the quiz, I can achieve my weight loss goals in 3 months. I’m looking forward to visiting my better self in 12 weeks!

Finally, a program that can offer me a plan to move from new year resolutions to a long term lifestyle change! I can finally feel like on top of my weight loss goals, my health, and wellness needs will also be met.
